Shipping Pets To Alaska
If you are thinking about moving to Alaska with pets, there are a few things that you will need to consider. Not to worry... as the process will all be worth it when your companion settles in with you in a new environment.
Animals such as dogs, cats, ferrets etc. require a current rabies vaccination if three (3) months of age or older.
Note: Animals that cannot be or are too young to be vaccinated for rabies must have an exemption form signed by the examining veterinarian, the owner, and approved by the State of Alaska. Persons with animals coming from a rabies quarantine area or that cannot be vaccinated for rabies (too young) are required to call the State Veterinarians office in Anchorage at (907) 375-8200 for issuance of a permit number.
